Fully automatic, unattended loading is accomplished by using the SmartLoader Vision System. The development of this system represents the final link to truly automatic dust-free loading. The top of the truck is scanned as the truck enters the station. As the open hatch is detected, a traffic light signals the driver to stop. The vision system then takes the final hatch coordinates and adjusts the loading spout positioner centering the spout to the hatch. The spout is then lowered into the hatch once the scale has captured the vehicle tare weight. When the filling cycle is complete, the spout raises. The traffic signal and exit gate then allow the driver to exit the station.

Common industrial processes have the potential for a dust explosion.

Flexibility is provided by BS&B’s proven range of protection technology that includes explosion venting, explosion suppression, a choice of chemical & mechanical systems for the isolation of interconnected process equipment and spark detection & extinguishing equipment to manage a source of both dust explosion ignition and fire.

An explosion risk assessment will typically recommend that a series of protection measures be implemented ranging from improvements in housekeeping to investment in protection equipment. Applying protection technology requires that the constraints of the process equipment, building facilities, environment and budgets are taken into account in achieving the level of personnel safety required by codes and standards.
